Polymers are processed mainly in a viscous stage with a variety of procedures, whereas different pressure and temperature regimes occur. Awareness of time-, pressure- and temperature-dependent material behavior and performance are therefore essential for the development, processing and application of novel and innovative materials and products. The determination of relevant process-oriented characteristics of polymeric materials is not fully understood up to now. Until today, suitable measuring techniques giving insights in the material’s behavior under a variety of different process parameters are rarely accessible while techniques taking into account solely singular influences are still commonly applied.
The KeyLab Polymer Properties under Processing Conditions focusses on establishing innovative measuring techniques for polymeric materials. The general aim is to allow for an improved understanding of the material’s temperature-, pressure- and time-dependent properties taking into consideration additional mechanical and atmospheric loads.
