Priorities
The aim of our research is the synthesis of precisely controlled supramolecular building blocks, their molecular characterization and understanding of the hierarchical self-assembly in columnar supramolecular polymers for organic electronic materials.

  • Multifunctional Molecular Materials
Synthesis of multifunctional mesogens containing fullerenes, oligophenylenevinylene, oligothiophene, oligopeptides, and other conjugated oligomers, stable radicals and ions; emerging liquid crystal materials for organic electronics, spintronics and ion conduction.
  • Supramolecular Hierarchical Nanoorganisation
Supramolecular columnar liquid crystals and supramolecular polymers; Nanoscience - control of segmented columnar arrangements via H-bonding, shape-amphiphilicity, Click mechanisms, nanosegregation and filling of intrinsic free space (filled liquid crystal materials).
  • Structure Identification and Alignment on Substrates
Structural elucidation of 0D, 1D, 2D and 3D organized soft matter by X-ray scattering methods, modelling (Materials Studio), fiber diffraction simulation (Clearer) and electron density reconstruction; Alignment control of liquid crystals on different surfaces.
