Tailored synthesis of functional molecules, polymers, block copolymers and their structure/morphology studies and application in diverse devices. Specifically, we are interested in:

  • Functional chromophores and photoswitches:
    Synthesis of fluorescent dyes, combination with photoswitchable units and optical transsitors, microwave and flow reactors
  • Conjugated polyelectrolytes and bioelectronics:
    Synthesis of well-ordered conjugated polylectrolytes and application in electrochemical transsistors to detect and assay biological molecules and cells
  • Fully functionalized / amphiphilic diblock copolymers for solar cell applications:
    Synthetic techniques such as NMRP, RAFT, KCTP towards tailored block copolymers, application in organic and hybrid solar cells, charge transport measurements.
  • Charge transport polymers for sensors and dosimetry to detect pollutants:
    Tuning of chemical structure of charge transport polymers to detect and assay pollutants such as NOx, SO2
  • Device preparation and analysis:
    Solar cells, Organic field effect transistors, Diodes and transient charge recombination studies
